On March 5th, the Macquarie University Applied Finance Society kicked off the year with its first event of 2025 – the AFS Social.

The evening began with a welcome from AFS President Gov, who introduced the 2025 Executive Team and outlined the Society’s vision for the year, including a range of career development and industry engagement opportunities.

With over 100 attendees, the event was a fantastic success, offering students the chance to connect, build new relationships, and learn more about what the AFS has planned for the year ahead. We were also honoured to welcome Dr. Lei Shi, Dr. Vito Molica, and Dr. Shane Magee, whose presence and insights were greatly appreciated.

The night concluded with light refreshments and networking, allowing members to engage in meaningful conversations in a relaxed setting.

The Society extends its sincere thanks to all who attended, as well as to the AFS Media Team for capturing the evening so brilliantly. We look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events throughout 2025!
